Setting up Student Blogs for Upcoming Technology Summer Camp

How will I set up a Blogs for my upcoming Technology Summer Camp?
Here are a few things I am concerned about and need to find out before I decide with which Blogging Software to use.
I will need to be able to set up passwords, that only my students are able to edit and read our blogs.As the teacher, I need administrative control over all my students’ individual blogs.
They will need to be able to write in their own blogs, but need to be able to comment on each other’s blog.

Blogger & Serendipity

I am working simultaneously on two different blogging software programs : Blogger and Serendipity, a program that was already installed on my hosting company�s server. By the summer I want to set up a blog for each of my technology camp students. Requirements are that the blogs are hosted on our school servers and that only registered users (students and their parents) have write and read privileges. In addition I will set up blogs for my school�s classroom teachers over the summer to be used next school year.I will compare both interfaces and need to evaluate ease of use and their features to decide which one will best suit my purpose.
