Using Camera Phones in the Language Classroom
I am planning a little project with my 5th & 6th graders this quarter, that could be easily adapted to upper grades. The goal of the project is to raise Hispanic awareness in our community.
WHAT:
Take a picture with a camera phone of a flag from a Hispanic country somewhere here in “enter your hometown”. Take a look when driving by a car dealership or in parking lots, where many cars will have a country bumper sticker or flag.
HOW:
You are to e-mail (enter your e-mail addres or the one provided by flickr.com ) your teacher with that picture and a short description of where you found the flag and from which Hispanic country the flag is from.
WHEN:
To receive credit your teacher will need to have received your picture and description by “enter due date”.
You can set up a special e-mail through your flickr account that will place their photos directly into a class blog.Joe Dale has some great posts regarding mobile phone use in the Language Classroom.
