Firefox Search Engine Add-ons

I just found a cool little add-on to make my life within the Mozilla Firefox a little easier.

The search function that came as the default with this version (2.0) of Firefox let me search Google, Yahoo, Amazon, and Ebay. When I clicked on “Manage Search Engines” I was taken to a new screen where you can choose the order of your current options.

There is another small link at the bottom to choose from “Get more Search Engines”. Once you click on that you will have the option to add other search functions to that menu.

I found Wikipedia, Technorati and del.icio.us. Searches which I constantly perform, but until now always had to go to the actual website in order to type in my query.

If one search engine does not give me the desired results after typing the query into one search window directly in my toolbar, the only thing I have to do is to choose from a drop down list. no more having to copy/paste the search string into different website.
