Telling Time Video Project (Spanish)
I teach an Adult Spanish class once a week and I am extremely proud to announce the creation of the first Spanish Instructional video that the class created. The video was created with the intentions to later on use it with my elementary school students. As a result of having the task to teach others, the adults learned the concept themselves. Using technology added more fun and excitement to the entire process.
I am planning on making this video available to download for my students’ iPods.
You can convert any youtube video into the iPod format by installing a little program called iTube and then pasting the youtube URL of the video into it. Iit will then convert the video into an iPod ready format.

What a fabulous idea! I love the simple explanations and the fact that the video can be used to teach elementary students or posted to youtube. I think I may try a similar idea with my high schoolers, who lack motivation. How did you structure the assignment with your adults? How long did it take to complete? Thanks.
It did not take very long to complete the project. Once the concept of telling time was completed, I asked the adults to think of a simple way how they would now explain it to elementary school students. The following class I had them demonstrate and recorded them on my digital camera (movie clip mode). I then put it together in Windows Movie Maker.
Can you partner up with an elementary school in your district, so your High School Students have specific kids in mind , when creating their clips. That might motivate them.
