Writing it off your Soul
I have had the following post in my draft folder for a few weeks now. The memory of the frustration is still there, but we are on the right path…step by step…in the right direction… It will be ok…The only reason I have made it through this crazy time at work is my friend and colleague Paige M. So, Paige, if you are reading this. THANK YOU!!
To me… staying in one language feels sometimes as if you are a prisoner confined within the boundaries of particular words, structures and sayings. Many times I find myself looking for a comparative saying in one language that just simply does not exist or just does not fit or sound the right way in another for what I am trying to express.
In German, there is a saying "Sich etwas von der Seele schreiben ", which means something similar like "Get it off your chest". The word-for-word translation would be "Writing something off your soul".
At this time I am frustrated, simply (almost to anxiety) frustrated!!! In order to vent frustrations, I have always started to write them down. In used to be (and still is for my private thoughts) a paper & pen diary. For my professional thoughts it is this blog.We are off to an amazing start with our faculty. Teachers are excited, open to new things, ready and willing…
but…
The equipment is not READY!!!
It is so frustrating. Programs are not deployed onto lab computers or classroom computers. Some programs only work for some people, not for others. Laptop cart for classes are not ready for circulation. Printer issues…I can go on and on…
