Quintura for Kids- See and Find

quintura2

This looks like a cool search engine, that is embeddable into a teacher’s blog or website.

Quintura, the first VISUAL search engine for the youngest web users.

Somehow I ended up (without noticing at first) on Qunitura (not the kids version). I ended up searching for the term “Argentina” under images and the first picture returned was definitely NOT a kid appropriate image (Think tangas!). While exploring the search cloud, I also found a misspelled word like “goucho” instead of “gaucho”. Not a very good sign as far as reliability.
quinturaWhile I like the visual part of seeing connected/related search terms in the cloud, I had hoped that the results would be a little more reliable. I especially was disappointed that this was only my first search term. I will try some more to see if there is any hope of including it for elementary school students. Maybe only to show them as an example how careful one has to be even with a site geared towards the “youngest web users“.
