Making the most of Notebook Software-

Different way to engage  students. Lori participated in the Smartboard Challenge.

  1. Click  and grow- reveals the correct answer (file is available under SB exchange)
  2. Secret Information- drag and drop into cell of table. text is grouped with clipart (so they move as one object) and will shrink automatically as soon as it is dropped into the cell. Text is same color as background. Have table background set to white.
  3. Flashing text- Object animation- Click on text and correct answer is flashing. Click on text and go to object animation
  4. Touch and Reveal- When object is clicked on and then will reveal correct answer. Top layer is set to fade out.
  5. Touch and Scroll- object animation- Flip around edges when clicked.
  6. Spinners- (are in the Gallery)- Make a spinner with your students’ names on it. Replace the popsicle stck. Properties> object animation> spin> clockwise and repeat until object is clicked again. (might have to take a screenshot image of spinner before, so it will work properly
  7. Getting Around- Making inks within notebook slides to resemble a web site
  8. Flash video files - embed videos (segments from United Streaming or downloaded YouTube videos)
  9. Voice- use Audacity, garageband- Make an MP3 file and link to a clickable object
  10. Infinite Cloner- Manipulate numbers to create fact families.
  11. Image Transparency- Lower transparency of image and use protractor or ruler to measure > Object properties> Object transparency
  12. Record ,capture and extend thinking- VoiceThread
  13. Sort and Classify> Lesson Activity Toolkit
  14. Capturing reflections- record them and attach to their images
