As I am preparing for a SmartBoard workshop here in Argentina:

  1. I found the following tweet on my iPhone, them favorited it with Twitterfon
    twitter-fav-1
  2. Opened it up on my laptop to click myself through to the website of Danny Nicholson The WhiteBoard Blog
  3. That in turn let me to a new promising YouTube show of eduTacher Steve Bellow

His recent show “5 Tips and Tricks for the SmartBoard” is short, well done and reminds me a little of the “…in plain English” videos series.

His 5 Tips and Tricks are:

  1. You don’t need the SmartBoard to plan the lesson
  2. The Magic Pen: Writing (will disappear), Circle (Spotlight), Square (Zoom in)
  3. Use the content folder to save images you used most
  4. You can drag or print Word or PDF documents into the Notebook file
  5. To erase all, use the eraser tool and circle & tap in the center

I put his together a while ago, but my staff found it very useful, and refer back to it:

I’m always reading your blog and referring back to it for ideas, links and tutorials- but I rarely comment and show my appreciation! Now that the dust is starting to settle on the close of this school year, I look forward to relaxing a bit but also taking time to enjoy having time to explore new uses for and learning more about the SmartBoard and other areas of teaching and learning. So glad I can learn more about using the SmartBoard from my laptop (Tip #1 above) Just wish I could attend in Argentina! :) Muchas gracias!
