You are not the only one recommending adding the link to the original article to the placemarks. There is simply no reason why students could not add that, except that I did not think of it at the time :)
Getting suggestions HOW to make a lesson or project better is exactly the reason, why I love sharing with my network!! Thank you. I will discuss the links and the how-to with the social studies teaher and middle school students this week.</description>

		<description>I LOVE this idea. I definitely passed it along to the social studies teachers I work with (and I&#039;m kind of jealous that I can&#039;t carry it out with students myself). I did have one question - is there a reason you don&#039;t have students link their placemark descriptions to a website where the news event is discussed? This would seem to promote further reading and research into these stories. Just an idea. Thanks so much for sharing this WONDERFUL idea!</description>
