For me I had to hurdle the mental block of why to share the "little things" I'm doing in my classroom and as a tech specialist. Your post lays out the reasons why and provides a path to get started. I was talking to a colleague yesterday about this, that we need to remember to take the few seconds to take photos, 20 min a day to write reflections, etc. Thank you (again) for inspiration!

My classroom blog (http://mrsmays.edublogs.org/) is both a way for parents to be able to share in what their child does at school each day (my students have severe autism and are mostly nonverbal, so cannot tell their parents about their day) and a way to share with other teachers how I adapt the general curriculum for my students by showing some of the activities we do in class.

I am trying to really embed blogging into my classroom. I want to frontload it so that it is not an afterthought to post photos or add children's writing, but a beforethought. I'm not there yet, but I'm getting more participation from children (7-8 year olds), during their reading time at school and from home. I'd love to be able to do a singlebuttonpush upload from smartboard to blogger...any ideas?
Please visit the blog and comment. We love having visitors from far afield and it's even better to get comments and interaction.

I would love to read more blogs about what teachers are doing in the classroom. I understand that teachers have so many demands, so I think that the practical tips that you provide are right on point. Reading posts like this make me optimistic that blogs and other innovative tools will help revolutionize our approach to professional learning communities and instruction. Thanks!

I'm in the same boat as you. I always "taught" classes. Starting in November I will be going from class to class (k-5) to facilitate the integration of technology in the classroom. How did you manage the scheduling? Do some teachers use up all of your time? Do some teachers never sign up to have you in the classroom? Hope you have some ideas for me.
