As much as I complain about the use of phrases connecting "21st century" to anything about education, it's wonderful that your school acknowledges the concepts enough to give you a job with that title. I keep telling my boss that I want the job of Communication and Collaboration Specialist in our district since that is at the core of almost everything we do.

But maybe I'll change that specialist to coach since you're right that the process of helping teachers use 21st century skills/literacies is more like coaching than training, which implies the standard one-time, group, sit-n-git approach. We are currently helping the school-based trainers I work with to make the same transition.

Although I still stand by my original contention that the skills normally listed as "21st century" were required for success in most of the last five centuries, you make some excellent points. I hope you'll continue to write about your experiences.
