How-To-Guide: Recording Audio Files and Generating QR Codes
I shared a very successful collaboration between our Art teacher and Language Arts teacher in a previous post titled Transliteracy: QR Codes and Art as well as at several conferences and workshops I was leading in the past few months. To follow up on several requests by teachers and workshop attendees, I have created a easy step-by-step how to guide /info-flyer, if you would like to record your students and create QR codes to point to these audio files.
The examples screenshots are from Garageband (on a mac) and AudioMemo on the iPad. You can of course record the audio with any other app, program or device you have and are comfortable with using, editing and creating an mp3 or wave file.

Hi Silvia,
My company, tokkers, makes pre-printed audio QR Code stickers that are great for classroom use. You can record the audio on our web site or with a phone call. I’d be happy to offer your readers a half-off promo code if you’re interested.
Thanks!

After reading your first post about QR codes, I was excited to try them out. It proved a bit challenging to jump through some of our network hurdles, but in the end I worked with our art teacher to create an interactive art and technology exhibit. Our 5th grade students created sculptures of a person they admire and then wrote and recorded a paragraph about them. I turned those audio files into QR codes using http://www.unitaglive.com which was a neat site because it allowed color and we could upload our school logo into the QR code. We printed out the codes and invited the parents to the exhibition. They were really excited to use their smart phones to scan the codes and hear the students’ voices. Thanks for sharing! It was inspiring!
Hi, this is now my second post for EDM 310. I never knew too much about QR codes, and I definitely didn’t know that they were this easy to create. I have seen these codes everywhere, and I’m glad to know they, like most other technology, can be easily incorporated into the classroom.
