I have so many questions!
- I am wondering about the puzzle pieces that I need to think about and understand to push forward towards transforming teaching and learning?
- How do I bring these questions and puzzle pieces to the surface and make them visible to coach others?
- How do I make my own thinking visible?
I am finding visual note taking an intriguing part of the thinking process that I just recently started exploring. Since I am not a natural artist, I am nevertheless finding the process of drawing itself and thinking about how to represent an idea super valuable.
What are some of YOUR questions?
I am always questioning how to effectively help others see the potential in new possibilities? How to look beyond the familiar, tried and true and step into the world of the learner?
My school is going 1 to 1 next year and I’m looking at the possibility of going completely paperless. I really like the idea of visual note taking and I wonder if there is a good way to allow kids to do this digitally?
@Martin,
The sketchnote above was created digitally with the iPad paper app… it is harder to do this on a laptop… easier if it is a tablet and students have a stylus.
Hi Silvia
I am inspired by your graphics these days. Loved the last drawing on amplification. My question, which won’t go away, is how do we as educators, parents, employers, citizens….accept a portfolio account of a student’s learning as valid? Is it enough to share and celebrate what good teaching and learning is going on If society continues to accept test scores as the measure of success? How do we get decision makers to value experience over multiple choice test scores? How does Seth Godin’s question , ‘What are schools for?’ get answered in time enough to save a generation of learners?
I am curious EXACTLY which app you have settle on using for sketch notes? There are many choices and clearly the one you are using is effective.
I am using Paper app by fiftythree (Have added all the in-app purchase options).
